The Pat Ruppe Scholarship
DESCRIPTION
The Lexington Community Foundation will award one $3,000 scholarship
each year from the PAT RUPPE SCHOLARSHIP Fund. Any graduate from
Lexington High School who will be a collegiate junior or senior,
enrolled in any university or college, is eligible to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS
Consideration for the scholarship may be given only to a Lexington
High School graduate who has an accumulative collegiate GPA of 3.0
or higher, is a United States citizen, shows qualities of good character
and leadership, demonstrates an aptitude of academic achievement,
and has participated in extra-curricular and community activities.
INSTRUCTIONS
Each applicant should submit a complete application postmarked no later
than April 1st of each year. The application packet should include:
- The completed application page;
- College major and your career
objectives statement (250 words or less);
- Statement of financial
need;
- Two letters of recommendation completed by collegiate instructors
whose class the applicant has completed or in which he/she is currently
enrolled;
- A third letter of recommendation completed by an adult
designated by the applicant outside the school other than a relative
(employer, pastor etc.);
- A resume listing memberships and activities;
- A copy of an official
collegiate transcript.
The application should be mailed directly to the Lexington Community
Foundation; PO Box 422, Lexington NE 68850. Members of the Scholarship
Committee will judge the applications and select the winner. The scholarship
will be awarded no later than May 1st of each year. Incomplete applications
will not be considered.
PAYMENT
Payment of this scholarship will be made directly to the financial
institution for credit to the student’s account. The first half
will be automatically remitted in August and the second half in December.
