LCF MISSION STATEMENT

The Lexington Community Foundation exists to encourage and strengthen philanthropy in order to provide a permanent source of funding for opportunities to improve the quality of life, strengthen the sense of community, benefit future generations in Lexington, Nebraska.

ATHEA ROBERTS MUSIC GRANT PROGRAM

The Lexington Community Foundation (LCF) administers the Athea Roberts Music Grant Program. Grant funding from the Athea Roberts Music Grant Program may be requested to support any music related activity in Lexington. Athea began her formal music education at age 6 and began teaching piano at age 16. In 70 years of piano lessons, she taught hundreds of students, while her music and years of community service, touched thousands of lives. Music was a strong part of Athea’s life and being the organist at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington from age 11 to 91 brought her great enjoyment. Athea played for countless weddings, funerals and Sunday church services. Through the Athea Roberts Music Grant Program, her love of music and the community will continue to impact the lives of so many here in Lexington.

Grant amounts will range from $100 – $750. The number of grants awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applications received.

To receive funding consideration, completed application and narrative description should be submitted to the LCF office no later than November 30, 2017 for review by LCF Grants Committee.
