DESCRIPTION
The ROBERT WADE SCHOLARSHIP fund has been established by Mr. Robert R. Wade for the purpose of awarding a $1,000 scholarship each year to a graduating Lexington High School senior who enrolls in a public university, college, community college or trade school within the State of Nebraska. The scholarship award is renewable for up to four years, making the scholarship worth up to $4,000.

QUALIFICATIONS
Consideration for the scholarship may be given only to a graduating senior who ranks in the upper 1/2 of the class, is a United States citizen, shows qualities of good character and leadership, demonstrates an aptitude of academic achievement, and has participated in extra-curricular and community activities. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need.

INSTRUCTIONS
Each applicant should complete the attached application. The applicant must also provide three letters of recommendation. Two are to be completed by instructors whose class the applicant has completed or in which he/she is currently enrolled. The third is to be completed by an adult designated by the applicant outside the school other than a relative (one of your employers, for example).

Please attach a recent photograph. The application should be submitted to the counselor who will then submit it to the Lexington Community Foundation Scholarship Committee. Members of the Scholarship Committee will judge the applications and select the winner. The scholarship will be awarded at Honors Night. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

PAYMENT
Payment of this scholarship will be made after successful completion of the first semester or term of the freshman year with a grade point average of 2.5 or better, based on a 4.0 grading system, and enrolled for the following semester or term.

In the event the recipient does not meet the required GPA, a probationary term, immediately following the recipients first term, will be granted. If the recipient's 2nd term GPA meets the scholarship requirement, the scholarship will be awarded following the probationary term.
