LTA Scholarship

DESCRIPTION
The Lexington Community Foundation has established a scholarship for teachers from the Lexington Teacher Appreciation Fund. Scholarships of at least $250 each will be awarded to Lexington Public School (LPS) professionals planning to attend an accredited college for continuing education. At least one scholarship could be awarded to a paraprofessional for continuing education toward a teaching degree.

QUALIFICATIONS
Consideration for the scholarship will be given to any LPS teacher who has a signed contract for the upcoming school year or qualified paraprofessional who shows qualities of good character and leadership, financial need and participation in extra-curricular and community activities. First priority will be given to applicants who reside in the Lexington Public School district.

INSTRUCTIONS
Each applicant should complete the application. The application must be received by the Lexington Community Foundation, P.O. Box 422, Lexington, NE 68850 by May 15, 2008. The Scholarship Committee will announce the winners no later than May 26, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

PAYMENT
Payment of this scholarship will be upon confirmed enrollment from an accredited college. Scholarship funds not used by December 31, 2008 will be forfeited.
